Known as Pensacola's Skin Care Center. Dr. Kevin Welch offers a full-service cosmetic and dermatology center that includes everything from skin creams to advanced laser and rejuvenation procedures. Dr. Welch and his staff offer some of the most popular treatments and services offered at the Medical Center Clinic's Dermatology and Laser Center include Thermage, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Photofacials, laser hair removal, Microdermabrasion, SIlk Peels and numerous skin care products. Products that are offered: OBAGI, Jane Iredale, Tilley Hats, Blue Lizard & more.
The Thermage procedure has been featured on "Oprah" and approximately 200 patients have been treated with this procedure at the the Dermatology and Laser Center. Thermage is a non surgical procedure that is used to tighten skin on the face and other parts of the body. A radio frequency, or heat device is applied to the area being treated and results are immediate. "There is not the same degree of improvement as with a surgical procedure," Dr. Welch said. "But there is no bruising, swelling, or scarring of the skin after a Thermage treatment. The skin looks normal immediately following the procedure." Results are evident immediately following the treatment and additional improvement is noticeable after six months. "One treatment is good for three to seven years, but patients can choose to have stacked treatments, which means a patient comes again in six months after the initial treatment," Dr. Welch said.
Phototheraphy is also a popular treatment at the Medical Center Clinic's Dermatology & Laser Center. The IPL Photofacial is a cuttingedge procedure that removes brown spots from the body, reduces facila redness on the face and neck, and treats broken blood vessels. Dr. Welch uses the most current equipment to perform IPL Photofacial treatments. "We use the Lumenis Quantum, which his the gold standard in this type of equipment, to perform this procedure," Dr. Welch said. Over 2000 total treatments have the past two years have been performed! The Medical Center Clinic's Dermatology & Laser Centers staffed by Board Certified dermatologists, who are available to treat diseases of the skin, hair and nails. The physicians are specially trained in the treatment of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Treatment modalities include cryosurgery, surgical excision, Mohs micrographic surgery, PUVA therapy and topical chemotherapy. Nonmalignant skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, and benign skin growths are also evaluated and treated. We offer the only phototherapy unit in the Pensacola area. This includes both PUVA therapy and narrow-band UVB therapy. The Laser Center provides treatment of both benign and malignant skin conditions. Various conditions that can be treated include facial telangiectasia (broken blood vessels), spider veins of the legs, tattoos and lentigines (brown feckless). N-Lite laser wrinkle reduction is also available to treat wrinkles. A hair laser removal service is also offered.
Other cosmetic procedures offered include glycolic acid peels. Salicylic acid peels, slerotherapy of spider veins and cosmetic consultations.
