What exactly are AFA that are used in the Clay Peel™ ™? ExCel's patented AFAs utilize specially treated amino acids that are derived from Filaggrin proteolysis. These amino acids constitute the main moisture retention system of human skin. AFA amino acids are small enough to cross the keratin barrier and, therefore, can function as antioxidants as well as help improve the moisture retention properties of the skin.
